Exactly. Reading of the conditions he and his men were working in, it's amazing they could function in any way at all. What he did was wrong, no doubt about it. But, there'd be something wrong with you if you weren't somehow deranged in that environment.
In other words he may have done it intentionally but he was not in his normal state of mind.

So we are back to the position where we have no murderers in this country mearly people who kill people in cold blood when they were not in a normal state of mind?
No we are not.
You need to have a good lawyer and a campaign group behind you.
The first will get evidence including experts to prove you weren't of sound mind and the second will publicize your case.

Blackman had had his conviction reduced to manslaughter, cannot fathom this it's either guilty of murder or innocent, manslaughter is unintentional killing and all we do know is that he did intentionally kill him.
It's manslaughter with diminished responsibility.

No. The war in Afghanistan is because the previous Afghan regime provided a safe haven for Al-Qaeda, an organisation that amongst other things, was responsible for the Kenya embassy bombings, the attack on the USS Cole, the attacks on the twin towers, the Bali nightclub bombings and the train bombs in Madrid.
What would have been a justifiable military response by the UK towards the US for sheltering convicted IRA terrorists?
Say the Chinese decided our country was a bit crap and sent in their army who started shooting at our army and killing the odd bunch of innocents, wouldn't you be a bit annoyed? If you join the army and go into another country and start shooting at them don't expect a big sympathy fest when you get killed.
ok

So can we assume that you believe that the war in afghanistan is about women/gay rights? You do realise that we allied ourselves with the northern alliance in order to wage the war - the northern alliance that arguably has a worse human rights record than the taliban we were engaging?

If 2 English guys went to Afghanistan and murdered a Taliban soldier in the same way as Rigby was slaughtered I'm sure many people wouldn't see too much of an issue with it
