missus has got original keyboard kindle - non 3g - it does the job must have saved us thousands because she reads free trashy novels rather than spending a fiver or so on them
i use kindle app on andriod - syncs up with her kindle as they are both driven from same amazon account
which means I get to see what she is reading
it is utter utter filth
it means I always know when she is 'in the mood' as she will have downloaded the next installement of <insert dodgy vampire porn title here>

As an aside how many Kindle books do you have paid or free?
Any other comments about dead trees or tech you can carry around?
no apps
c20 if you count a collection as 1
c200 if you count up books in collections
i've only been using it about a year or so - love it. rarely read paper books now. i'm slowly adding all my favourites and re-reading them as i go.

Kindle 3G with keyboard. I have the app installed on my Android tablet and Android phone, but very, very, very rarely read them on there. Use the actual Kindle a fair bit - it's the most regularly used gadget in the house, apart from the tablet now that PvZ2 and Angry Birds Go are out.

I have bought quite a few books but I still buy a lot of paper because maths and technical diagrams don't work that well on the kindle, and tbh I sort of prefer paper books. The manning computer books are quite good as as you buy the paper version you get a kindle version too.
For books to read it's great, for reference or studying less so, although that could be because I've not learned what I need to do to flick to where I want to go. Dunno how many books I've got - downloaded lots of free ones, many of which I haven't read yet.

I mainly buy the same books I would have before, but also use it as an opportunity to read some classics when I can be bothered.
It is my favourite gadget, and I don't even travel much. I have been tempted by the new Paperwhite versions as I read in bed a lot and the wife requires the lights be off but am too stingy to replace something which works perfectly well.

Never owned an eReader before & I always used to diss them.
It's now my favourite gadget

Use my IPhone with a speed reading app as, after a fair amount of practice, I can read pretty fast. However, I still have almost no time to read so I listen to audio books when commuting. Currently listening to the modern scholar book on World War 2, awesome stuff.

I'm still planning to line the flat with new bookcases in the New Year though - it's getting to the point where the piles of books all over the place are becoming a hazard
My Kindle is more than convenient though on lots of levels and battery life that goes to weeks is a winner.
