Heat and humidity will play a part in the 1st game. The younger and fitter team will prevail, not necessarily the better skilled one.

It will be interesting psychologically to have to play 2 hard games to start with, a bit of luck in the first one and some momentum may be generated.
Especially if they feel they have nothing to lose, which, as you note, is true for change.
Agree. How many times have England been drawn in an 'easy group' only to struggle with 0-0 draws against Tunisia or whoever first game and the doubts set in.

Even a 0-0 vs Italy would set the ball rolling, Uruguay aren't that good and the players are used to Suarez, the cheating twunt. Costa Rica will do us tho!

England will never win a tournament because they don't have good players.

Sadly this is now realised, the 'we might just do it this time' followed by the car crash when it went wrong was always the most entertaining thing about the competitions.

England will never win a tournament while the players are owned by the premier league, instead of owned by England.

C'mon, where's your patriotism? England are going to win, and win with ease...Who invented the bloody game in the first place? If it wasn't for us then johnny foreigner would still be doing Trotting, Petanque (I actually enjoy that), Bandy, Korfball, etc.

England will go through, they have to fulfil their manifest destiny to go out or pens to Portugal after Rooney is sent off for biting Ronaldo's ballsack.

What would you know about getting out of a group? Scotland have never done it.

They know they'd get it anyway, once every 4 years - not bad going for a lot of money
