    I think lots of people like them, and even more don't care. But a vocal minority "we quite like the windmills" isn't going to get column inches.

    A few giant windmills in the open countryside remind me of the old sci-fi books "The Tripods" by John Christopher. In a good way.

    They were rather pretty. But that's a subjective opinion. Any website which tries to use words like "blighted" and "eyesore" as objective is not worth reading.
