Didn't Concorde locationally lose a 6ft piece of tail? IIRC it used to just fall off mid flight, it didn't seem to do much so I'm surprised they kept putting it back on.

Dreamliner. Is this the new DC10?
No
The cargo door fell off one quite early on, but since they landed it and only a few people died, it didn't cause too much bother.Originally posted by zeitghostHas the cargo bay door fallen off yet then?
That's what did for the DC10 in the end.
Then the engine fell one because of unauthorised engine change procedures (used to cut costs).
Then the cargo door fell off the Turkish airlines one that Douglas was supposed to have modified during production (but didn't)
And that was appart from that uncontained blade failure and the Kiwi one that flew into Mt Erebus.

Is there any way to ensure MF is always booked on Dreamliners?
At the very least, that would give the planes a decent stress-test.

Perception is everything. If you knew you were going to fly on a 797 would you be happy about it?
