Guilt should be on a scale of 0-10. 6+ and you are guilty. You need 10 to get the death penalty.

I was all in favour of the death sentence but the Rachel Manning boyfriend Barri White who was wrongly convicted of her murder in 2002 and spent six years in prison has made me think again- this would easily have been a hanging & not sure how we could stop such a miscarriage happening again

good point, well made. If you combine that with the possibility the Indian police might fit up one of the usual suspects then the Death sentence is even more risky.

4 sentenced to death

BBC News - Delhi gang rape: Four sentenced to death

Good thing too - the way Indian women is treated is a disgrace. And they are murderers - hanging is too good for them.

And the death penalty is barbaric in this day and age. The 4 pleaded innocent anyway - they are being made scapegoats.
