    As drummer Barry Wom, aka John Halsey, put it to me in his pub in Cambridge a few weeks back: every eighteen years or so, they have a farewell tour. I've just spent a glorious evening at the final gig of the most recent one

    In the "encore" phase - they didn't insult their audience by dicking about leaving and returning to the stage, just explained how it was going - they did a beautiful rendition of George Harrison's song All Things Must Pass, with Neil Innes accompanying himself on the ukulele :smileyrepresentingabeautifulmusicaltributetoadepar tedfriend:

    If you and they are still around in eighteen years, I recommend it
