    Like BBQ summer?

In all fairness, they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't. The UK weather is probably the most difficult to predict in the world, as we're subject to Atlantic gulf streams, arctic and and african winds, and continental pressure systems. There are so many variables, that they only have to get one wrong for the lot to come tumbling down. I mean, this isn't Sri Lanka - Hot, and hot and wet, or Miami Hot, build up of humidity, 4pm storm, then hot again.

They've so far got most of the year right, but then we suddenly get this.

I think they should keep making bad predictions as the weather always seems to do the opposite of what they say.

they said there would be twisters as well, but that might have been a bit of spin

It's been sunny mostly since the first May bank holiday, definitely since the 2nd one over a month of summery weather and it's only the start of July seems pretty good to me, though it'll probably be crap in the summer holidays

Incidental point of order - minor bit players intended to only be kill fodder for the regular cast should not be elevated to Trekker status

to be honest the British weather has lowered my expectations of what amounts to "summer". a few weeks of weather like this would qualify as a "good summer".
