Like BBQ summer?
In all fairness, they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't. The UK weather is probably the most difficult to predict in the world, as we're subject to Atlantic gulf streams, arctic and and african winds, and continental pressure systems. There are so many variables, that they only have to get one wrong for the lot to come tumbling down. I mean, this isn't Sri Lanka - Hot, and hot and wet, or Miami Hot, build up of humidity, 4pm storm, then hot again.
They've so far got most of the year right, but then we suddenly get this.

I think they should keep making bad predictions as the weather always seems to do the opposite of what they say.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostIt was only a few weeks ago that the met office told us to expect ten soggy summers on the trot.
I'm starting to wonder a bit about the met office

they said there would be twisters as well, but that might have been a bit of spinOriginally posted by OwlHoot View PostYou jumped to conclusions - They never said the ground had to be wet, but with all those clouds the sky has been soaking!

wet and miserable, were the words.Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostAssuming soggy includes clouds and hazy skies every day for weeks on end, they're right on the button so far.

It's been sunny mostly since the first May bank holiday, definitely since the 2nd one over a month of summery weather and it's only the start of July seems pretty good to me, though it'll probably be crap in the summer holidaysOriginally posted by fullyautomatix View PostWhat summer ??? We are in second week of July for crying out loud. At least in July we can expect a reasonable 25 degrees cant we ??

Incidental point of order - minor bit players intended to only be kill fodder for the regular cast should not be elevated to Trekker statusOriginally posted by Gym beast View PostYep....
Just noticed your avatar, as one Trekker to another, what did you think of the depiction of a Gorn in IAMD ??

to be honest the British weather has lowered my expectations of what amounts to "summer". a few weeks of weather like this would qualify as a "good summer".Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostWhat summer ??? The sun has got his hat on
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
He's coming out today.
Now we'll all be happy,
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
And he's coming out today.
He's been roastin peanuts out in Timbuctoo,
Now he's coming back to do the same for you.
So jump into your sunbath
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
And he's coming out today.
Never saw the grass so green
Never saw the sky so blue
What a lot of fun to ev'ryone,
Sitting in the sun all day.
All the little boys excited,
All the little girls delighted,
What a lot of fun to ev'ryone,
Sitting in the sun all day.
Now we all be happy
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
And he's coming out today.
He's been roastin peanuts out in Timbuctoo
Now he's coming back to do the same for you.
So jump into your sunbath
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
And he's coming out today.
All together now!
