I actually think Serena is bizarrely beautiful, in her own special way. Venus is far more statuesque but I don't like her face.

I think we can all agree about the sister who is seen in the coaching box though

Time for some real analysis on the bodies of Serena and Venus Williams.

    Venus; I would
    Serena; I wouldn't

If you have a lot of muscle bulk it only takes a thin layer of fat to look podgy. She's probably got less fat as a percentage of her weight than a lot of thin looking people.

The OP has a point, if you compare the top women tennis players against the heptathletes from the Olympics.

Granted, we are talking small margins here but even if they only have to play 3 sets, pro athletes are compulsive about eking out every last ounce (ha!) of performance - every spare kilogram slows you down when accelerating.

You misunderstood my post. By extra kilos I didn't mean excessive kilos. I meant extra kilos instead of skinny sorts.

    So I agree with you.

    And so would I.

They don't play such long matches as the men? Plus, women naturally tend to have more body fat then men.

Tennis players aren't fat, or skinny. They are about ideal in terms of toned athleticism and healthy weight, unlike many athletes (men too) who maintain artificially low body fat levels.

If I had daughters I'd rather they looked to tennis players rather than models for inspiration. Despite what the doubters say about the importance of looks, it takes a ****load of hard work to make it into the pro ranks and stay there.
