Pensioner who claimed house was on fire had left heating on - Telegraph

The woman dialled the emergency number yesterday claiming that the temperature “kept going up and up” and she told the operator that she thought her home in Crawley, West Sussex, must be ablaze.
Firefighters attended to the scene at 1.40pm, but found that the “stifling heat” was being caused as the radiators were on full blast.
Officers turned the heating down and reassured the woman her “house was safe”.
