As I said, have done it several times, repeated for one friend. As I said, if you're both good at what you do, and can detach yourself from the friendship aspect, then it's not biggie. I never do these things as a favour, I do them as a business opportunity, for I get paid market rate (or more as has happened), so we're both in their with our eyes wide open.

I am MTT, the master and senior developer of the 'Would you' and the 'I would' threads. While anybody is free to start a thread with these words, I wish to point out most earnestly that it is not good form on CUK General to start a thread with 'would you' without then posting some pictures of attractive women for delectation and entertainment of the chaps.

Been in on small consultancy work with friends. If you're good at your job, and they're good at theirs, it really shouldn't be an issue for 2 professionals to be able to manage their different relationships for a while. Depends on the kind of friendship I guess.

I've worked for mates spending other peoples money at my standard contract rates, and occasionally done small (non-sexual!) favours for beer or dinner. I don't know if I'd work for a friend starting their own business, it would depend on the friend and the business.
