I did see it yesterday. Excellent!
My advice: do not read reviews in case they spoil the rather big reveal in the middle.
You'll be totally bummed if you find out beforehand that XXXXXXXX is XXXXXXX although you'll then get it when XXXXXXX happens
P.S. I think it'd be fine in 2D apart from this bit:

Saw it yesterday in 3D.
Good points;
Great special effects.
Lots of SF in-jokes and references.
I thought Kirk and McCoy were acted very true to the original.
Bad points;
Plot had holes big enough to drive The Enterprise through.
Daft script.
If you like Star Trek, you'll probably go and see it anyway. If you're a giant lizard however.....
