Well done the the Welsh assembly for taking a sensible strategic decision. Now all those Londoners that bought holiday homes in the valleys can come and work up there in the week as well (they will still bring all their food with them in Watrose carrier bags just to point out how upper class they are! )

Playing L4D2 and Skyping is now interrupt free and crystal clear. All hail to the fibre!

Same here, but cabinet at the end of the road, so not all that bad

This is interesting. I just did a speedtest with my 3g dongle and I get 3.2Mbps down and 1.4Mbps up. Compared to .5 and .25 with my ADSL respectively.

There is no brainer really. I may just switch to 3G. But it seems the 3G routers are very fussy about the 3G dongle they work with.

started a topic 50Mb broadband - thank you welsh assembly

50Mb broadband - thank you welsh assembly

Will certainly beat the 1.5Mbps that I currently get through the miles of copper wires from the phone exchange. And no sign of fibre in my area yet.

Good old welsh assembly paying for some sort of wireless solution - normal cost £1000 installation. £40 a month for 50Mbps. Sounds good to me.

Another advantage is you can get rid of phone line if you want too - normally you've got to have phone line for broadband. Thus, saving a few more quid.

Working...
