Are you sure the clients (or their internal processes) don't have a tickbox of requirements which she is trying to fill in? Have seem some pretty complex role requirements from potential clients that had half a page essential, another half nice to have's and another page of assosciated skills.
Even I couldn't see how some were relevant and the role was bread and butter stuff so must have been a nightmare for a none tech agent. An indepth discussion of my CV to find out if I matched more than the next guy would have made sense.

There was a girl at Lockheed Martin that did that, she was stunning and would interview guys by putting her clip board down and pretending to chat (complete with smiles and annecdotes etc).
I was 20 and she got me completely off guard, like I had a chance with her, until she mentioned her friend loving living in Cardiff due to the social life and asking me if that is why I went there (I realised it was the 'why did you choose your university' question and yanked my guard back up). That was a learning experience .. but not the type I was hoping for.

And even if they don't understand have the stuff you say, and lets face it, you could still be bulltulipting them, if you cannot speak coherently and give them a brief outline of what you do, then you'll probably go on their "no" pile for 2 reasons.
1. you might by bulltulipting
2. they are not convinced you can sell yourself well enough in an interview.

Happy to talk to agents and educate them as long as they can absorb the information.
I once spent 30 minutes trying to explain to some ditsy bird why she couldn't find a technical architect that specialised in Java. I had tried to point out to her that java was software development based and that solutions architects tend to come from that background rather than technical architects who are infrastructure people.
She could not get it and kept saying but java is technical.
Shame she was quite pretty and I would have loved to shag her brains out but had obviously been beaten to the the job...
