It's very good for looking up ex colleagues and managers when its job hunt time, I used to put a lot of effort into networking but now you don't have to bother until you need it. I'm sure it must have lead to more people getting work directly even with the mass infiltration of agents buzzing around.

I just got endorsed again. The mail message says "for new skills and expertise", but I haven't a clue which ones are being referred to.

I ditched LinkedIn a long time ago but recently created another account and so far have zero connections (ignored pimp requests of course which started within minutes of the account being created).

I must admit though that I'm getting a lot more email from agents.

I thought you could only endorse someone for subjects you have in your profile.

I got endorsed for one skill last week but it's 3 or 4 years since I did it in any depth.

Though I got lucky. It came from someone who is well respected in their field.
