Fortunately Christmas lunch has been outsourced to hyperD's sister. All I've got to do is make the mulled wine sorbet and Christmas Dinner ice cream.

And that folks is another Xmas eve shopping blitz finished. Picked my M&S up at 9.30. Another 30 getting some extra food bits and then 1.5 hours in M&S and Boots getting all the family & wife's presents. Even by my standards a particularly good Xmas eve smash and grab.

It does my head in Chrismas, a waste of time money and effort.

It's nice to see everyone but i can just do that in my own time anyway.

Had planned to book an Ocado delivery. Then forgot to actually book it until all the slots near Christmas were taken.

Did a big Lidl shop instead, because it was a lot less manic than the local Tesco. Sorted, but still annoyed I didn't organise my Ocado delivery in time.

    Packed to the gunwales!

And saw loads of people I knew shuffling round in their slippers (well it is luton) grumbling and grousing about "bloody Christmas" and "be glad when it's all over"

Back home and just sauteing my chicken livers in red wine ready for the pate.

    Anyone else going Christmas loopy?

Asda ??? Asda ?? Waitrose or nothing. What are you doing in this forum ? Go look for mumsnet.

My wife and I are heading down to a hotel in Poole for the next couple of days. Taking the dog with us and letting someone else worry about the cooking and cleaning up.
