So how do you make it ?
How, how
tell us tell us, i hear youse all shouting.
ok.
1 bottle of 'hot' oil (peanut oil, canola or grapeseed)
1/2 cup of popcorn kernals
1 block of butter
2 cups of white sugar
1 large lidded pan
1 nonstick pan
all ingrediants are available in tescos for a couple of quid
put the large pan on the a medium heat. add 3 tblspns of oil
throw in three or four kernals, place lid loosely on top
when they pop, you know the oil is at the right temperature
remove from the heat.
let it cool for a few seconds then add the cup of kernals and put back on the heat
with the lid on loosely. shake gently
All the popcorn should pop pretty quickly now, with few burnies and few unpopped.
remove from the heat when the popping stops
place the smaller pan on a medium heat, put the butter in.
add two cups of sugar and start to stir.
When the butter has melted, you will notice the sugar gets less crystalline.
keep going.
The consistancy now gets weird, its like thick treacle.
keep going
when the colour changes from yellow to dark brown or amber, its ready
pour it over the popcorn and keep stirring. If you dont stir it thoroughly, you will end up with big popcorn /toffee clusters

You know what ? there is no point hiding your light under a bushel
and you may as well blow your own trumpet because no other bugger is going to blow it for you.
so yes, it went brilliantly and I am dead made up.
