    He was in the programme showing how older people shouldn't be shoved into bungalows and left to rot.

    He was wonderful and got himself a dog after the programme (he thought he was too old before the programme).

    I worry for the rest of them.

    I too remember him in black and white. Was he also one of the newsreaders (along with Richard Baker, etc) who was in the Morecombe & Wise parody of South Pacific singing "there is nothing like a dame"
