    Personally I cant be arsed.

If someone at client wants to go off on and one and cause an argument - I dont care.
If client is doing something stupid and wont take telling - I dont care.
If someone in the office is a nobhead - I dont care.
If its going to affect my ability to earn money - I care then.

Its the clients business not mine. Im not paid to re-educate them and get them to do things properly.

Winds me contractors who get too involved who think its their right to sort the client out, get arsey etc etc.

It's good to have an eclectic mix of personalities on any project in my opinion.

Also keeps you on your toes re man management skills, as each one will react differently to the same treatment.

I actually like people to provoke discussion through disagreements, as it is often the best way to solve problems, and make sure nothing stays under the covers and festers.

Best to nip it in the bud before someone goes postal.

The use of conflict in the workplace is a legitimate skill that can be utilized. The ability to challenge others and not be afraid of a little conflict along the way sorts out the men from the boys IMHO. But an aggressive stance in the way you have mentioned should be coupled with a lack of blame culture outside of the room. You need to tackle **** ups, tackle those who **** up, deal with it and then move on as a team. Hopefully this means you don't have to need it as much.

On the flip side if you've got someone who gets ranty all the time I normally go toe to toe and tell them to fook right off or risk my wrath.

I dont see so many who thrive on conflict, but I do see those who look for it and some who are not afraid of it.
the trick, as usual, is to be ahead of the game. to nip it in the bud.

also, one lesson I have learned, is that a bit of conflict is not always bad.

esp if you are the boss. a little bit of niggle in the workers can bring out the best in them. just make sure it doesnt go too far.

people who thrive on conflict are more tricky. as usual, in human affairs, if it can be harnessed, it can be incredibly powerful.
    if it can be harnessed.

    started a topic Ass Clowns

    Ass Clowns

People who just seem to thrive on conflict. Every contract has them

Today I was even temped to use the "well I think we should talk about this offline" but I realised that was just passive aggressive translation of "shut up or I'll hulk smash you through the flip chart".

Sigh. Smile and invoice. Smile and invoice.
