quite a few people here who think coming in at 8 and then having breakfast and surfing the web until 9 is acceptable - along with then leaving at 4
but yes people who think it is more about the time spent sat at your desk than what you deliver are fe<kwits

I agree though that this obsession with 9 am is rather pathetic and sad. Software can run 24 hours a day and so does the interwebthingummy; I can test it at any time I choose.
That's what I used to get working those kind of hours. Tit for tat though, bit of healthy sledging is good for morale.
As long as you do your fair share when it comes to making tea.

It is a ******* skill when you've been kept awake half the night by people making a porn movie in the room next to yours and you only got off to sleep when the alarm goes off and you decide to maybe just have those extra 5 minutes and when you do wake up you find those 5 minutes have turned into 45 minutes!

A test manager from many moons ago would rock-up at 10:30 and with a clap of their hands say "Let's get started team!"
Never mind half of us had been in the office for 3.5 hours prior to this.
Even better was, when I knocked off about 18:00 the test manager had the f-ing temerity to check their watch and roll their eyes.

The last Dutch PM that I had didn't even say good morning or good evening he just arrived at my desk at 9:05 and said "BS you are late for the meeting"

You know how he feels; knackered, needing a cup of coffee and just wants to quietly get on with his work, but of course there's always a smartypants, in every office in the world, and as the guy walks in and summons up whatever good cheer he has left after the drive to work, he says 'good morning', as you do. Of course, smartypants 'scrum master', who arrived only 5 minutes earlier, says 'Good evening' in his usual sarcastic fashion. Now I know that smacking people in the chops at work is highly unprofessional, but I'm tempted.
FFS, if someone's late once in a while, give him break; he's probably had a pretty stressful morning and doesn't need some sarcastic pillock making smarty-arsed remarks.
