I don't work 9-5 either. I work 7am-1pm. Then I eat lunch and shoot off down the beach for some R+R. I've been doing this for some months now, it suits me. And Yes, I bill for the day.

If you have an offshore resource that is unresponsive and all you do is send emails is to actually set up a weekly call with notes and actions after each one. This may require.... Wait for it..... You to actually do some work / meetings outside the hours of 9-5. OMG!!!
