no idea what a theramin is, but if he has a birthday with a 0 in it, tell him he only has to do a bit more then he can relax and take it easy.

Anyone here got a theremin?

Its my other half's birthday soon - and it's a big round number.
I'm getting the requested guitar, (Rickenbacker 330 fireglo) but was also considering getting him a theremin.
Is there anyone in the assembled masses out there who has one? Should I also get the stand and special amp?
How hard is it to get a recognisable sound out of one ?
