Previously on "Did a set on an Open Mic session last night..."
Wanted to do this for ages, so we stumbled upon an Open Mic night in a pub in Chester, and with 5 pints of dutch courage inside me and a spare guitar, I knocked a set of three songs out.
I did;
1. Girl you'll be a woman soon - Neil Diamond
2. Handbags and Gladrags - Rod Stewart
3. Black - Pearl Jam
A bit nervous at first though in front of perhaps 40 or 50 people, and I did seem to keep my eyes closed most of the time as I needed to concentrate, but the lads all thought it was part of my 'cool' act.
It felt great after I did it !! Anyone else had the balls to do it?
NLUK MODE ON
Did you seek permission beforehand from the songwriters to perform these songs?
Did you have PI for the guitar in case you broke it?
Did you nominate a substitute?
NLUK MODE OFF
Phew, I get so exhausted when I go into NLUK mode....
