Thanks again, all. I nearly feel like creating a Facebook tribute page but then I may as well put myself down.

We told YG1 (aged 4) last night that Puss was going to die today and she was distraught, then in denial with plans involving fairies and magic spells. By this morning she had plans to lure a kitten home. We'll leave it a few years until YG2 (aged 1) is a bit older.

It won't be the same watching telly without him curled up asleep on my lap.

The vet is also a friend and she's coming round the house to do the deed on her day off to spare him the final indignity of the basket. Nobody want to die at the vet's.

That's a nice thing. Not many vets would do that, and it'll be a lot easier for him.

Sorry OG . I still miss my old mog (ZipmogMk1) who was put down 10 years ago after a very good innings. Was really tempted to to let him go on, but glad I didn't.
