They will continue to cut costs and offshore as money savings is the bottom line. A few more screw ups will occur more low key and then one day due to the offshore nature of the banks I.T. (for UK accounts) one day in the future a few Bobs will create one of the biggest banking fraud robberies ever and they will be outside of UK jurisdiction. The UK will change the law but the damage would be done by then with people losing money from their accounts.

Not only that, but Indians aren't stupid, especially the brightest when there are so many of them.

Soon, if not already, they'll have the skills and infrastructure, to start doing themselves cheaper all that the City of London and other Western commerce centres does now.

I was told to fook right off in England with that Scottish fiver. I certainly won't be counting on it being accepted abroad.

Only happens in some places in England never abroad. Actually the only place I had a problem was in Birmingham years ago (true), I guess they were not used to tourists in those days. I was there recently and had a great time and no probs spending Scottish notes that time.

Therefore, saying that it's not accepted abroad (unless we're talking specific places where they honor them) is correct. It's not supported by law like other national currencies are, it's just a piece of paper printed by the bank on it.

Some banks will charge a wee bit more commission for an exchange but aside from them never had a problem exchanging Scottish notes anywhere else, they'd rather you spent the money there than go elsewhere.
