Where I live, even folks with no TV are going to have to get a licence if they want broadband.

On that basis my TV is staying until it croaks. I like the occasional documentary or film.

I wouldn't want to get rid as I love watching movies so I think the best solution (and quite possibly overkill) is to switch the tv for a projector and automatic screen. That way, for 90% of the time nothing is in obvious sight but then a great home cinema is just a click of a remote away.
In one house I moved the telly (plus amplifier and decent speakers) into a spare bedroom, bought a sofa bed and voila, Telly Room that doubled up as guest accomodation. That also gave me the excuse to upgrade the Hifi in the living room.

You need to find yourself a more cosmopolitan hotel sharpish MF. A couple of weeks staying in the Cystitis Towers means a one way ticket to lardy gut bucket central.

I've been to NJ and so know of what I speak.

Been thinking about chucking sky movies, there really is little value for money there.

I got rid of Sky Movies as I always buy the Bluray or DVD of any good film I want to watch anyway.

I think the only TV I watch now, is the Gadget Show, which has turned tulipe, Robson Green's fishing show, which I like, but not for the gobby little northern tulipe he is and walking dead. Aside from this, its being force fed childrens TV as I nap, a bit of sport, although even thats starting to be a load of tulipe too.

Starting to think of doing the same, and it's only the fear of managing my feral children indoors when it rains that's kept the damn thing. Non rainy days is grand, as we all cycle of canoe around the Rhynes here. It's rain that I fear.

Husbands don't really need a TV. They just want a remote to play with. After all men just want to see what's on the other side.

A TV is just another device that you switch on when you need it.

It is NOT something that needs to be there 24/7 or used as a pacifier for husbands.

It has its place. put it in its place

TV is a funny thing these days, its not what it used to be. I remember being at my TV at a certain time for shows which I could not miss, now with internet and pay per view on demand etc the 'TV' is just an enlarged display device in my living room with which I watch special shows such as 'Game of Thrones' etc. I think my Virgin TV package is a bit of a waste of money tbh.

    Good point.

There used to be alot of coders who would use a methodology even if they thought it was stupid. Good coders will take what they want from any methodology.
