    Yes. Crucifixion is not something the bible invented, it's something the Romans did and therefore simple history. From what I remember reading, it HAS to be through the wrists because the hands are not strong enough to support the weight. Also, the wrists have nerves going through them which is what makes it so painful (this is where the word excruciating comes from I think).
