FYI, dont disregard mobiles by the way .....

For example, one friend in the US, it costs 45p to call his mobile from a landline, 13p using a service like dialaphone like has been mentioned. However from my UK mobile to a US mobile, 5p a minute, cheap as chips ... In fact, a bag of chips will cost you quite a bit more.

A foreign mobile being used in its country of origin should not be charged any extra for receiving a phone call from abroad.

Are you sure you're cut out for using the phone?
Maybe a letter would be easier.
You're creating your own specifications now. Anyone got a sensible answer?

    2) Wait near the O2 shop
    3) Watch for someone to come out and then follow them around town
    4) Wait for them to go into a cafe or pub
    5) Follow them in, sit at a nearby table browsing the menu
    6) Keep putting the waiter off until they the perp leaves to go to the toilet or is distracted
    7) Nip in, go through their bag or jacket then pinch their phone
    8) Leave quickly
    9) Phone Abroad.

    Quick, cheap and easy.
How do you deal with PINs locking their mobile phone?
