Slaters, deffo.
I had a mate who shopped in an inferior tailors. After his operation he went to Slaters as a way to treat himself , to help get over his ordeal (he had his testicles removed for suspected tumours, after suffering years of severe ball-pain and headaches)
The tailors at Slaters are experts, and they sized him up without even using a tape, 36 waist 35 inside leg. 'No, actually I am a 34 waist and a 34 inside leg'
They said to him 'Trust us sir, with your build, you may need to use a belt and braces with our 36/35, but with a 34/34, you will get severe pressure on yer bollocks which will lead to the most unbearable headaches'

I've had suits from the hong-kong visiting tailor - Raja something or other. Very comfortable, but not particularly cheap if you want a nice material.
I have also tried Asuitthatfits.co.uk - took a while to get the cut right, but they have a fit guarantee so you just keep going until they get it right.
What if the client told you to wear a swastika would you do that? I am paid to work not to change the way I dress.
When meetings get called, do you go to the one where the project manager tells you what to do. Or the one where you get to tell the board what their new strategy will be for the next year?
Seriously you might think you are being a smart individualistic visionary but the truth is if you dress like a tramp you get moved to the janitors office.
To the OP stop buying off the peg suits made on sweat shop lines only to have a posh badge stitched in by a child, and go find a decent tailor. Then your suits will fit and not feel uncomfortable. Simples ! If you don't change weight much a good quality suit with two pair of trousers will last a few years
You could try the Austin Reed personal tailors route if you don't want to spend serious cash. I have a blazer from them and it's not bad quality.

I don't know if anybody else finds suits normally very uncomfortable and itchy but I generally can't stand them. I have 2 summer Cerruti suits which are comfortable enough to wear on a daily basis but I can't seem to find a suit that is so comfortable to wear that I could go to sleep in it (which is my real aim).
Any ideas on what Suits I should be looking at? French Connection, Tailored?
Fit wise if you can afford it and you want a suit that lasts get a be'spoke one made up. Made to measure are less expensive, then you have off the shelf
Merino wool. Super 100 I haven't found itchy and I frequently fall asleep wearing them.
The higher the number the finer the wool but also more expensive and more prone to visible thread catch damage. Super 100s to Super 150s are high street tailoring items.
Off the shelf : M&S ones from many years ago were really itchy probably 80s or 90s grade (they have probably changed the wool they use). Austin Reed, Valentino, Jaeger suits I haven't found itchy in the slightest, though I haven't bought a suit for years
I have a few fairly expensive ones (four figrues), but strangely...the one i like most and feel most comfortable in... and the one I always wear to interview...it's from asda may be because i know if i ruin it, it's cheap to replace
Charity shops. Get those big old baggy trousers which are good for playing pocket billiards and the big overcoats which are good for hiding nicked stuff. They're cheap and if you quiff you're hair back you can look right trendy...

You remind of the jumped up little prick who interviewed me for a perm job a few years back before I started contracting. Technically incompetent and managerial even worse.
I was actually praying afterwards that I wouldn't be offered the job
Attitude like yours and I am sure your wish comes true with alarming regularity.
Truth is Spaceman, you're all hot air. 'Oh I wouldn't take the job'
You don't get the say mate, you're chaff mate. The little prick was probably thinking the very same thing, and he was your manager too, who told you what to do; it's this you didn't like, not his incompetance.
He would be being thrown off the site, and I believe their would be a plan B.
Also, if you noted, I said, if I had a contractor turning up, so I would be the very superior. DOn't think you aren't replaceable Spaceman, you don't have a monopoly on this, and there would be many out there who would snap up your position without a bat of an eyelid, including many from here.
You may think you're that good, but the truth would hurt; there are many folk who would, and who probably have, replaced you. You also may think you hold the nap hand, but you dont. Its why you drive a kia

I get mine made to measure. They fit much better any off the peg and cost about the same. Once you have a jacket you can get extra pairs of trousers made to match which is is handy as these usually wear out first. I actually have several pairs of trousers in different materials with no matching jackets, so for the price of a suit it looks like I have a wardrobe full of them.
