What is really sad about this post, is that even if it described me, which it doesn't, the lifestyle portrayed is infinitely better than your current one of lonely pot-noodling in a bedsit. At least the hypothetical 'permie middle ranking civil servant' would get laid now and then.

Don't think the charter renewal is until 2016 but they do seem to be keeping their head down. Great opportunity to reinforce some real world examples of hard pressed, hard working families in fuel poverty and show the actual increase over the past year rather than quoting some meaningless rate.
