So oracle, what part of the bible are you ignorant to and need me to clear up for you?
I feel a couple of the best ways god shows his evilness is the Egyptians versus the Jews and his treatment of Job. I'm sure others can think of murdering and torturing showing Gods misplaced malice but just for starters:
Egyptians versus the Jews:
Exodus 4:21 The LORD said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
Exodus 7:4 he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites.
Exodus 7:13 Yet Pharaoh's heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.
Exodus 10:1 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these miraculous signs of mine among them
Exodus 10:20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.
Exodus 11:10 Moses and Aaron performed all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites go out of his country.
Exodus 14:8 The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly.
Really quite nasty of God. If he hadn't interfered, Moses would have persuaded the Pharaoh to end slavery and let his people go and they could have walked out and settled, prospering and becoming their own race.
Instead God condemned the slaves to extra suffering, changed the will of man and inflicted suffering on Egyptians. Not content with that, he made his "chosen people" wander the desert aimlessly for decades on end instead of settling and prospering. Very cruel indeed.
Treatment of Job - Book of Job or Epistle of James:
Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and 1 shunned evil. 2 And seven sons and three daughters were born to him. 3 Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the 2 people of the East. 4
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and 5 Satan also came among them. 7 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you 7 considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and 8 shuns evil?" 9 So Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 "Have You not 9 made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 "But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse 10 You to Your face!" 12
And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, all that he has is in your 11 power; only do not lay a hand on his person."
a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, 15 "when the 12 Sabeans 13 raided them and took them away - indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!" 16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and 14 consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!" 17 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!" 18 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, "Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house, 19 "and suddenly a great wind came from 15 across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said:
"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
And naked shall I return there.
The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away;
Blessed be the name of the LORD."
22 In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.
7 So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 8 And he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes.
9 Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? 3 Curse God and die!" 10 But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
v10 After Job prayed for his friends, God made Job successful again. God gave Job double what Job had before his troubles.
v11 And many people visited Job. These people included Job’s brothers and sisters. All his former friends came too. They ate with Job, in Job’s house. They sympathised with Job. And they comforted him about his troubles, which God brought about. Each person gave Job some money and a gold ring.
v12 God was kind to Job for the rest of his life. Job was even more successful than before. Job had: 14 000 sheep; 6000 camels; 1000 pairs of oxen (large farm animals); 1000 donkeys (small horses).
v13 Job also had 7 sons and 3 daughters. Job named his daughters: v14 Jemimah, Keziah, and Keren-Happuch. v15 Job’s daughters were the most beautiful women in the entire country. And Job ordered that his sons should share the family’s wealth with his daughters
So basically to sum up, Satan in this story was just an opposer to God's views. God saw an honourable man, but gave Satan the power to punish him as an experiment to see if he would still worship God. Throughout this was a willy waving competition.
Then when Job eventually breaks down and prays to god to see why he did this, he then lectures him on the essence of nature before making him successful again (an apology here would have been nice).
So who is the evil one here? God gave Satan the power to punish Job even though he had done nothing wrong, just to prove a point. Killing someone's family, stripping all they hold and inflicting them with illness driving them to the edge of their faith, just to prove a point, IMHO is pure evil.

Why do fish get cancer ? (or any other number of really bad things)
Either - there is no God
or
There is one and he/she/it is unspeakably evil.

Don't bin them! What have you got? Could be worth a few pennies!
Also you're wrong here, DVD's do get cancer. That's why I back all my discs up because some discs, even when stored in optimum conditions will get cancer, while all it's other mates are fine. Slowly it's film will start to crack and ripple, making it unreadable, poor little disc!
