This is what I am alluding to in another thread; he's not daft, the people who are listening to him are. He's telling them just the right things, as you said, pressing the right buttons.Originally posted by Churchill View PostHe's saying what the common man in Scotland wants to hear, he's pushing just the right buttons.
Think Adolf Hitler and his rise to power. "Scotland is in a sh!t state and it's all because of those bastard English!!!", Ok Alex, you want "Independence" then on your head be it.
I actually can't wait. They think they're another Norway, but they're just another Portugal, without the sunshine and beaches and that's in just as tulip a state.

It's win-win for him really.
The only thing that can stop it is if he sells out totally to the English...

You're right. He's a crafty buggar - even though he bulltulips and lies as much as any other politician nationalists seem to lap up anything he says and accuse Westminster of propaganda when they simply state the bleeding obvious - like pointing out waiting 2.5 years for a referendum is ludicrous. His entire tactic is to create a divide between Scottish and English people which doesn't really exist.Originally posted by Zoiderman View PostTeflon, watched him quite a lot on a contract up in Edinburgh and he's a shady fecker, nothing sticks. Clever wheeler and dealer. Always seems to come out smelling of roses. Can't wait for his fall from grace as he's made a lot of enemies on the way up.
He should be tried for high treason IMO.

Yes, their banks have never been much for squandering money and making very shady deals, os this could be a good future for them, with RBS and BOS and, oh, hang on.....Originally posted by darmstadt View PostWhy doesn't Scotland just do a Switzerland, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein sort of thing? You know, dodgy banks, that sort of thing, much like a Green Bank....

Has he been in a coma or something?Alex Salmond, the SNP leader, claimed that Ireland, Iceland and Norway demonstrated that small independent countries were amongst the richest in the world.
