As for the money, I hate the sponsorship but I hope the games will return a profit. As technically it is the London rate payers who are on the hook for the debt - and I am one of those!

Brillo, I love Olympic Games, but I hate all the hype. It is more about "selling the UK" than the sport, the tail wagging the dog. I especially hate opening and closing ceremonies.
I'd sooner it was held elsewhere. Then we'd have another 10 billion spare for George to spend.

On the other hand, economy has been flat last 4 years and will probably be flat for another 6 years.
Can't we blow the 10bn on a massive party and make us all feel good for a short while? Or is this going to happen just before the next election?
