A net influx of over 100k a year, no surprise there!
Ay, and you need a new town like Luton to be built every year to accomodate them.
And that doesn't include the balance of legal immigrants minus emigrants which, I believe on last year's figures, comes to yet another Luton every year. Plus roads and reservoirs.
following the results of the 2001 Census, the Office for National Statistics recently produced a revised set of international migration estimates. From these, it appears that in 2001 about 480,000 people arrived to live in the UK for at least a year and 308,000 left to live elsewhere

Though I'm not too sure of these new CyberPersons, they seem altogether too hu-man for my taste... and the flavour of machine oil is a little off-putting...
You could suck their brains out like like people do with monkeys?
Do you "live" in Malta (Cyprus) and commute to UK for work during the week or are there local IT jobs in those locations?
thanks
Not yet! I'm planning on heading out there within the next two years. In malta there is huge plan for a technology business park to be built that will provide around 5,000 IT jobs. Locally they only produce a couple of hundred qualified IT people a year so there'll be a plenty on offer soon. Do a search for SmartCity@Malta - it's being built by the same people behind the Dubai Internet City.
I am also planning on popping back to work in the UK under the 90 day rule although I have to iron out he wrinkles in confirming (avoiding!) any UK tax liability.

I currently live in the UK, but own property in Cyprus.
Commuting to Cyprus would be expensive and time consuming (the flight is nearly 4 1/2 hours).
I don't wish to work or live in the UK, so have no interest in commuting.
I have a plan B (Internet based) that today generates enough income to live on in Cyprus and so will be "retiring" from IT contracting. Coupled with other investments I should have a similarly (low) standard of living to that which I "enjoy" in the UK, after UK taxes have taken their "fair" share.
