Previously on "Avoid "Feel Barcelona" if you're planning a trip to the city."
I once locked the rental car keys in the boot of the car in central Seattle.
Luckily there was an Avis branch right next to the multi-storey I had parked in
I'd hired the car at the airport, and they had the spare key there.
They had the key at the local branch for me within an hour, and given it was easily a 45 mins drive from the airport, I was very impressed they got it to me so quickly.
Just arrived in Barcelona. Been in Seville the last few days enjoying the flamenco, food and sights. Not spent enough time in Barca yet to have formed an opinion on anything other than some top fanny about.
If you can get in, try and eat at Abac , av. del Tibidabo 1 E - 08022 Barcelona (Phone933196600).
You won't regret it ...

I've got a top picture for you from my visit - will post it when I get on my own machine
I have a system - I give the tickets and the passports to my wife.
By the time we've got to check-in, she's about to kill me because I've asked her if she still has the tickets and the passports about 50 times.
That's actually my system, which is probably the cause of the failure. Wifey is still recovering from surgery she had a few weeks ago, so, unwisely, left it all to me.

I've got holiday item check list, which saves forgetting anything. Although I don't include the front door key on that list, I got back from holiday once to realise I'd been carry around my car door key, a big electronic fobber that I really wouldn't want to lose, and I didn't need. So in a way I did the inverse of the OP, I took a key with me that I would have been better off leaving in the flat.
Before leaving normal people go, tickets, wallet, passport. Then on the journey to the airport they check every few minutes to se if they really have got them, tickets, wallet, passport, tickets, wallet, passport, tickets, wallet, passport... then at the check in they panic in case they might have forgotten them.
