I had a leaky diff once.

"Porous" the garage called it.

I needed a new one plus half shafts too. All sourced from scrappers, so not too painful for the wallet.

Yesterday I had to patch my central heating flue with fire clay and baking foil where the "stainless steel" had corroded through. All part of life's rich tapestry for old cheapskates like us.

I've never heard of a Seicento, but judging by the name and the shoddy petrol tank, I'd guess it was Italian.

How easy is it to get hold of a scrappers fuel tank and swap it out?
What kind of vehicle are you driving? - I've never come across a leaking PT - you sure its not a tank seal or fuel pipe problem ?

Last year it was a rust leaky sump.

This year it's a rust leaky petrol tank.

Much more exciting.

£25 worth of petrol dripped away since I filled it up last weekend.

Deep joy.

That's about 75% of the value of the car gone, then.
