"A machete-wielding burglar who targeted a well-to-do family home was forced to flee empty-handed after a brave middle-aged housewife fought him off.

Gillian Wilson, 55, was praised by a judge after she rushed at burglar Nigel Greenwood, 29, and plunged a knife into his arm to protect her family.

A court heard a quiet family evening for Mrs Wilson and her 64-year-old husband Brian turned to terror when a gang of armed and masked intruders burst into their pretty detached bungalow in Apperley Bridge, West Yorkshire, in October.

Their son Christopher, 26, who was visiting with his wife, was punched in the face by machete-wielding Greenwood and demands were made for cash and jewellery."

Well done Gillian, if only UK allowed homeowners adequate means to support God Given right of self defense, then we'd be reading a very short article of 3 thugs gunned down by a mom who made it in time for last orders to a local pub.
