That would be the sensible approach, unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse and we are expected to bring along cash to contribute towards the cost of the crappy meat they will have purchased.Originally posted by wobbegong View PostOooo, nasty. Why not take some decent steaks and bangers with you as a 'contribution to the barbie'. Phone them in advance and announce your intention as a "thank you for their hospitality". Brownie points all round.

Swiss dinner is Gorgonzola-fondueOriginally posted by Sysman View PostI've been asked for a Swiss Christmas dinner this year. I think it's going to be beef.
I'm going to take the precaution of having my fridge well stocked up though.
Pork roast for Boxing Day methinks.

Not sure about starters, but think it should end with a cream pie

Anytime dearieOriginally posted by OwlHoot View PostSounds scrumptious. Are we invited? Not sure if I'd fancy driving all the way to Lancashire, but I'm sure it would be worth it!
I've been meaning to try goose for several Christmases running, but never seem to get round to it. Apparently it's coming back into fashion though. Didn't Cliphead say he planned to have it this year?
But you'll hav to try the channel tunnel, not sure when I was living in Lancashire

I popped in to Lidl yesterday to get a couple of bottles of their very good Cava (£4.49 a bottle) and noticed they had a whole chest freezer full of geese, as well as ducks. Unfortunately, Mrs. W. doesn't like the idea of it.Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostSounds scrumptious. Are we invited?
