Scrapheap Orchestra

Good programme, being shown again on Wednesday night on BBC Four.

Follows a group of instrument makers who need to recreate an Orchestra from scrap materials, finally getting to play Tchaikovsky's 1812 at the Proms - at which point the idiot programme makers decide that the music itself is too boring and so we have to be subjected to random sound bites from the instrument makers instead of just listening to the music that they have worked so hard at creating.
