I did pass the 11+ when I was 11 and I did go to a Grammar School. So I got to have the academic education that wouldn't have been available to someone from a modest background like me.
I have never understood why socialists were always so vehement about closing those opportunities for people to improve themselves down.
(Not really, that's what socialists do, I realise that now.)

Youngest did state grammar school entrance test a few years back and the sample questions we looked at were mostly a hell of a lot harder than this.
