Great Stuff NF - well done !
The Art of Assembly Language Programming - "Amazing! You're actually reading this.
Well I was one of the ones who acutally not only learned but did use IBM370 Assembler on various IBM 370 Operating Systems - mainly VM - though when I learned this in 1984 it was already becoming a bit of old fashioned as systems were using Macros Link Editors and all this new fangled stuff .
I think we were all much happier then .
Still - its all in the mind - you will excuse me as I need to flip my bits.
PS as for this one ....after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, photographer Alexey Titarenko observed how St. Petersburg streets that used to be lively and filled with joyful people had suddenly turned dark and gloomy, with people confused, malnourished, and worn out.
I was in St Petersburg in 1991 and Moscow was I was on assignemnt with the Russian Space Agency - I can tell you that St Petersburgh even in Fenruary was beautiful - yes I do have some pictures of local people looking a bit bewidered thats a typical reaction I seem to get.

Well Im still not sure whether to keep it in kit form as an investment or build it at a later date (much later date when I have time) to remember "the good old days", for now it seems happy sat in the cupboard and so that's fine

I bought one at 75quid last year, havent touched it yet though, not sure if its PAL or NTSC though, hmmmmOriginally posted by NickFitz View Post$240 total for a ZX-81 kit shipped to the UK
The problem for many people would be finding a 625-line PAL TV it could be plugged in to... unless of course the US kits output 525-line NTSC

I've got a printout of the source code for PolyFORTH II on the 6809. Of course, being FORTH, it uses a Reverse Polish assembler syntaxOriginally posted by Churchill View PostDragon...Originally posted by zeitghostLoved the description of the 6809 as "obscure".
I used to run OS/9 on mine...
I drew heavily on that listing and the Acornsoft book FORTH on the BBC Microcomputer when implementing FORTH on the (68000-based) Atari ST many moons ago. Ah, dear, dead days beyond recall
