SC was talking about James Cameron Shirley?Originally posted by Toastiness View PostExactly. The plot sometimes was little more than a horror B movie: 'Hey let's split up' or 'Let's see what's in that spooky basement'.
Prometheus lost me the moment the 'scientists' took their helmets off when the air is revealed to be breathable. I mean, would anyone sane do that ??

Now all Ridley Scott needs to do is ruin Blade Runner....
Anyway it's not as if they rocked up and whipped their helmets off, the other members were freaking out when he started to do it.

Taking helmets off is important for non-plot related reasons. Simply put - it looks better on film if you can see the actors faces.

I think I understand the opening scene but some of the conclusions they reached in the film as to where stuff came from and what it was for - it didn't seem to me like they had enough evidence.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostThat's the thing 3 days later and I'm still thinking about it, the opening scene is haunting me!
There's loads of fan based theories circling on the net but I can't talk about them here without revealing spoilers.

I saw it in 3D, the special effects were excellent. Michael Fassbender was very good also. The plot had a number of holes though and "how did they reach that conclusion" moments that left me feeling a little cheated. Still thinking about it.

It's been a while since I've seen it and it's still very good. I also watched Aliens and The Terminator and I was struck by how good James Cameron used to be. I think after Terminator 2 it all went downhill.

Terminator2 remains one of my favourite films. Apart from the cheesy liquid metal effects, it's remarkably undated too.
