Does he not realise that the businesses it would touch are globally mobile and would probably up sticks thus removing more money from the UK and Europe.

Now you're getting there. In the dark days of the last recession, AtW was introduced to the forum to make everyone else feel better about themselves. Regardless of the topic he can be relied upon to take a contrary view, particularly so if it involves throwing logic and perspective to the four winds.
His punishment for this behaviour is to be forever stuck in a rented hovel in a seedier part of Birmingham, with nothing to keep him company but a mountain of out-of-date Pot Noodles, a collection of low budget porn DVDs, and an inflatable sheep called Matilda.
