Don't think Shell Island is the place for your missus. I spent many summer hols there in a tent and have very happy memories but I went back for a day trip recently and facilities have not changed much !!
People just won't put up with what was normal back then - washing your teeth with a mug of water, digging a hole for the pan, living by torch/parafin light etc !!!
Kids will love it of course...

Or, can anyone recommend a posh tent, that SY02 may like. Her key objections being nipping to the loo in the middle of the night, so some sort of portaloo tent annex could mitigate this.

Calling all Taffy's
Need your help. I wants to go camping in Shell Island, Snowdonia sort of way. The missus doesn't like camping and has said she will go if she can stay in a caravan. I can't find any caravan places near enough.
Soooo, does anyone know the area well enough to recommend a caravan park/ cottage / b&b / hotel?
