Well Alexa ratings are biased towards techies as they are the only ones who would install the add-on used to track usage.

Based on the information above to succeed on Alexa you need to look for dirty old men with a technical bias. As this is already the core audience of this site (see the photo below) it has probably reached its highest position.

Basically an Alexa ranking is not important. Having a high or low Alexa ranking does not help a site one bit, unless you want to use it to impress people who are impressed by this sort of thing, but do not understand it.
