I had the exact same experience. Lastmindotcom secrets hotels. 5 star hotel near Edinburgh Waverley. Was sure it was the Balmoral, so booked and then went "what the f@*& is the Missioni!!" when it told me the hotel name.

However it's really nice. Italian hotel chain, Edinburgh is the flagship. But cracking hotel and really good service. Though not the cheapest.

Only complaint would be that the wine by the glass is only italian wines. They do a nice pint of Peroni though.

But location is great and hotel is nice. Only couple years old too so nice spic and span condition. We booked it a second time, but deliberately this time and enjoyed it again.

The Balmoral remains outstanding on my To Do list. Just need that megabucks contract so I book it outwith 'secret hotels'!

I agree website is a bit naff, worked nice in Safari.

The hotel I've walked past often enough, has a sense of occasion about it.

Site worked ok, but all that animation and music overlay is an instant putoff to me, I closed it as soon as it brought up the music.

I know what you mean about a hotel that feels special from the outside, I've stayed in a few flash hotels (I usually go for small places when working away) and there is that sense you're in a classy place, rather nice

Just booked one of those secret hotels on the last minute.com since my pad is rented out like, I thought it might the balmoral hotel but not the Missoni!
