My father recommended a Vitamin B Complex tablet taken daily - according to him, it makes your blood taste naff to the Midge, so they leave you alone....it certainly worked for me in India (with Mosquito's, not Midges).

Probably Rod Gilbert? He's also the voice of 'Visit Wales'.

Some good trotters there, but it doesn't seem right that they go through all that training only to end up as sausages.
The winner of the race goes free, at least that's what they tell 'em

Budget flight fee-fighting: Cut costs on Ryanair, EasyJet & more...

Looking at all the tricks they employ, I wonder why people take holidays with the likes of Ryanair. Ok, you can save money if you spend a couple of hours working through all the options, organising a pre-paid mastercard, weighing your clothes etc., but isn't the point of a holiday to get away from all that stress?

There aren't too many. You get charged extra for using hold luggage (£15 each way per bag up to a certain weight and dimensions and maybe £more for extra bags, I don't use hold luggage at all so never bothered remembering). £6 to check-in, each way, but this cost is displayed up front. "Taxes", displayed up front too and can be avoided by selecting days when "taxes" are not charged. Paying by credit card: Hard to avoid, you have to have a Ryanair approved credit card which they appear to change every so often, so not worth it, add £6 each way.

Cheapest way is to use cabin luggage, which is generous enough for me, and select days with cheap tickets (usually at least a week ahead for the outrageously cheap tickets - I flew return to Ibiza last week for £32 inclusive of everything). And don't buy insurance etc. Their hotel recommendations may not be a bad deal though.
