Well, from a road trip perspective she handled it fine. She was the perfect age for disneyland for example but perhaps the majesty of the grand canyon for example was slightly lost on her. As long as you do a kids type activity every second day or so, which we did, she was A1.

That sounds excellentOriginally posted by oracleslave View Post2 internal flights, a helicopter ride, a couple of boats.
What more can a 4.5 year old want?
First half of trip involved the beach, California coastline and 2 days at Disneyland. She was sold on the holiday from thereon.
Do you think she was just at the right age or do you reckon you could have done it when she was a bit younger?

billiant. that was a long one , esp for a kidOriginally posted by oracleslave View Post3 week trip excluding flying time.
Major cities included LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Vegas, and New York with loads in-between as we drove much of the Pacific Coast highway and Route 66.
Best holiday i've ever had, probably cause the missus and little one enjoyed it so much as well.

Last time I went I was a single permie in 2005, and it was for a "developers conference" in Las Vegas, so I got Permie Co travel organisers to route the return flights through NY and stayed at mates flat for 2 weeks.
3 weeks in US for about £350 quid, good deal.
Time to go again. No invoicing £2k+, flights and hotel £2k+, shopping with wife £1k, + eating out, entry prices etc... Mmmm slightly more expensive
, Will love it though.

Lucky you - I still haven't been.
Don't forget, if you are a smoker, you are no longer allowed to smoke in certain public places now.
