It's disgraceful for Reed to let their standards drop this far off the scale. I'd never have anything to do with a high street agency, but this - well it's quite shocking TBH

It's not an apprenticeship. They've called it an internship (whatever the legal meaning of that is?)
I may be old fashioned, but I thought that apprenticeships had some kind of industry recognised 'qualification' at the end. They also took a lot longer than 12 weeks to complete. This role is only for 12 weeks.

Oh, hang on a minute:
There are different levels of NMW, depending on your age and whether you are an apprentice. The current rates are:
- £5.93 - the main rate for workers aged 21 and over
- £4.92 - the 18-20 rate
- £3.64 - the 16-17 rate for workers above school leaving age but under 18
- £2.50 - the apprentice rate, for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship
Nope, even at the 2.50 rate that's only 27 hours a week.

An internship is a great way to accelerate your career when qualifications are not enough to help you find the job you desire. Practical work experience is invaluable if you want your CV to really stand out. As well as finding out if recruitment is a career path you wish to follow our scheme will provide you with some relevant training and a work based reference.
The role of Assistant Resourcing Consultant is to provide support to a team of Recruitment Consultants. Activities will include keeping up-to-date with our candidates seeking accounting opportunities coupled with resourcing of new candidates to enhance the portfolio. Registering of candidates and undertaking of references and other background checks to comply with Reed policies. Processing of timesheets for weekly payroll and providing cover for the office.
As an Intern this is not a salaried role, however you will receive a travel allowance of £37.50 per week (£62.50 in London) as well as £30 per week meal allowance.
We have opportunities in Reading for immediate starts. Your application will be reviewed and suitable candidates will be telephone interviewed and then invited to attend an interview within the branch.
This is an amazing opportunity to gain a real hands on understanding of a recruitment business, adding support to the internal network whilst gaining valuable skills to add to CV details.
